The Beautiful rosemary tops i got from Fresh origins had such a full bodied aroma that i just had an instant idea about putting them on a dish… But rosemary on food is something you will encounter …I wanted to do something more ,in the Greek fashion , something with lemon and rosemary… Then the idea of making drinks came up because all i had was great Vodka and some lemons so i thought why not make a Martini…
The Rosemary is strong in this so you might want to adjust the variables to your personal taste…
Rosemary Lemon Martini
1/2 Cup Water
1/2 Cup of sugar 1 lemon zest peeled off
5-7 Rosemary tops from Fresh Origins
2oz of Good Vodka of your choice (or it could be 3 oz depending on your mood)
To make the base make a syrup 1:1 ratio sugar to water adding the rosemary and lemon. Bring to a boil, dissolving sugar while stirring… Remove from Heat let cool. Disgard Lemon and rosemary.
Combine l/3 of the syrup (or more if you prefer sweeter), the fresh squeezed juice of half a lemon , the vodka and some ice and mix in shaker.Strain into Martini Glass.
See you have enough syrup for more Martinis so you could make another….
Finish with a lemon peel wrapped around rosemary top or a slice of lemon pierced with a rosemary top in the center like here. In any case the flavors and nice scent of rosemary will be there every time you take a sip..!!
Thanks Again to Kelly and David Sasuga from Fresh Origins for the beautiful Rosemary tops….I really enjoyed making this one…. Enjoy!
